Ability to download audio files

This is a deal maker or deal breaker. I love everything about this app, but am having to also use Plaud so I can access the audio. This is a critical feature that inferior competitors have; so is doest make sense that it is not provided. There is recorded audio being saved somewhere so why not make it accessible to the user. There are many times critical information is missed in the summaries because something was not understood or picked up in the transcript; but if I listen to the Audio I can either hear what was missed or use what I can hear to figure it out … which is something the AI cannot do as well because it doesn’t understand the underlying conversation as well as I do (because I was part of it). **I also want to use AI to build a searchable database of all conversations but must have the audio files to do so.
**I really hate to have to use another recording device and pay for another app to get the Audio files when they are being saved somewhere; but just need to be made accessible by user.

Just to add a thought part of me wants this but a bigger part does not - one of the beauties is that it does not capture the audio so it’s less intrusive and I can say to people in meetings it’s ok not recording just taking notes - so actually please don’t add record option - plus will make it more expensive

I concur. If they add this feature there should be a way to toggle on and off. And perhaps the led cant be turned off when audio record keeping is on. I dont think it would change the HIPAA compliance by doing this, but as long as all of that privacy stays intact, and it is an optional feature, then I think id be ok with it. But i do agree the lack of stored audio is a beneficial stand out feature in many ways. I just wish the transcripts were better. But improvement is a constant

me as well. coming from limitless, fieldy is pretty great except for that. sometimes i need to know the
exact
words that were said, not what the transcript thinks was said.T

I agree. I have just moved to Fieldy from Limitless and I’m finding there’s less features on Fieldy. Limitless allowed you to download audio files which have bee really useful for me. Also to easily send them to yourself when needed

Adding another use case that just came up: for integration into presentations, training materials, or creative projects. Downloading eliminates redundant steps like using recorders or additional third-party tools, making the workflow more efficient. This enhances the use cases for Fieldy without changing the goal or promoted use case of Fieldy. For those who need the audio, they have it. For instance, I need to create some training material - and I am now bringing in another recorder for the day, but it would be incredible if when I was working I could just talk out loud and then use the fieldy audio.

I would add, allowing the ability to keep the audio on device is all we ask. It hits the device, saves, goes to transcription and then gets deleted on server. That would be everything I need. At this point I am using 2 devices just so I can also have audio saved. For my job, knowing the words that were said via transcripts is one thing, but being able to hear how something was said is just as important. Reading someones words "I'm dying" sounds scary, but if they were laughing and said "I'm dying" meaning they were laughing very hard would be an important distinction. Additionally, being able to reference voices and voice tones is super important when taking care of children. The app cannot distinguish multiple 3 and 4 year olds. Being able to go back and review who said what would be incredibly helpful. 3rd use, capturing my own child's voice.

Having access to the audio, and the ability to edit transcripts and regenerate summaries is great for when the transcript is not correct. It’s very useful to be able to know what was said, versus what the STT client thought was said. And, until diarization is a real thing, it’s very useful to be able to listen to the audio so you can verify WHO said something.

Being able to save them to our phone would be incredibly helpful.

There are many AI devices that record audio, what sets Fieldy apart is that it does not. Not storing audio is not a design flaw, it is a feature that many users are looking for. The fact that the developers had the ability to record audio from the start and chose not to tells me they care about our privacy. If Fieldy starts recording audio I for one won’t be using it.
